Did you know that every part of your Voice has a different Character? In fact you have multiple Characters inside you that you can Call Upon when ever you need them. These Characters help us Express the Emotion in a Song. They ALSO help us REACH the notes we want by tapping into the Muscle Memory for how they FEEL in our body when we PLACE our Sound.

YOUR HOME CHALLENGE: Record & Reflect

Guess What? It's time to do one of the most important step. Now that you've played with all the Wonderful, Colourful things your Voice can do it's time for a Review. This one comes with a Twist so you may discover some things you never expected. Let's go!

1. Video Record Yourself singing a Verse, Chorus or Song Section Completely STILL & BLAND

2. Video Record Yourself singing that same Verse, Chorus or Song Section in FULL EXPRESSION

3. Put the Screen down & LISTEN ONLY to each

4. Turn the Volume down & WACH ONLY to each

5. Write down your Reflections

Pitch, Dynamics, Movement & Melody

Engaging with the sound of your own voice through melody and singing has profound effects on the brain, body, and nervous system. The vagus nerve, which connects your brain to key organs, is particularly responsive to gentle vocal tones and melodic patterns. Singing or using prosody can stimulate the vagus nerve, promoting relaxation, reducing stress, and enhancing emotional well-being. This connection taps into the parasympathetic nervous system, which supports healing and calm, allowing your voice and melody to become powerful tools for self-regulation and mental clarity.

Making Pitch Easy

The biggest issue people have with Pitch is getting STUCK on their note & not knowing how to ADJUST. Knowing how to slide UP or DOWN to the Right Pitch if we miss it. Then it's SAFE to Sing & we're not so scared of our notes coming out wrong because we safely know how to CORRECT it. This way our Nervous System is feeling SAFE as we improve our vocal skills.

EXERCISE 2:
Scales & Arpeggio's

Playing with STEPS and JUMPS in music help us build our agility & mastery. Once we know how to guide our voice where we want it & we feel comfortable with the TECHNIQUE and MUSCLE MEMORY then we can Call Upon It as we need. Enjoy these Vocal Warm-Ups when ever you feel like strengthening your Vocal Flexibility.

CHALLENGE: Play with these Vocal Tools

This week around the house whether you're making up a melody, humming a tune, belting out your favourite classic, singing in the shower, singing in the car;
Practice playing with Articulation (jumpy & smooth) & note lengths (rhythm) and WAYS you can make the song INTERESTING from start to finish.

These are by far one of the most POWERFUL exercises I've ever taught that get the BEST RESULTS from people. Both on a LIFE Level as well as a VOCAL Level. WHY? Because EVERYTHING shows up in the Voice. Our Voice is a Doorway into who we are & our Way Home.
